Don’t let the pressure get to you! Use your vacation time to come back stronger than ever.

Finally, vacation! That golden time when your phone alarm becomes a mere decoration and the word “exam” sounds like ancient Chinese. But what happens when those relaxing days are over and it’s time to return to the daily grind? The return can be tough, a shock to reality that leaves you drained and feeling like you’ve lost your rhythm. But what if I told you that you can make the most of your vacation without sacrificing your academic performance? The key isn’t to study nonstop, but to find the perfect balance between rest and keeping your mind active. Here are some ideas to help you return to university feeling refreshed and sharper than ever. 1. Activate your brain, but at your own pace! It’s not about opening the textbooks, not at all! The goal is to keep your neurons in shape in a fun way. Learn something new you love: Have you always wanted to learn to play guitar, take amazing photos, or program a video game? Vacation is the perfect time. Choose something you’re passionate about and dedicate some time to it every day. Don’t see it as a chore, but as an adventure. Read for pleasure: Forget those 500-page textbooks. Pick up that fantasy novel, that biography of your favorite artist, or a book on a topic that piques your curiosity. Reading not only helps you unwind, but it also improves your concentration and vocabulary. Do puzzles, board games, or logic apps: Keep your mind sharp with activities that force you to think strategically. Sudoku, chess, or brain training apps are perfect for this. 2. Take care of your body and mind. A healthy body and mind are the foundation of good performance. Don’t forget it. Establish a sleep routine (even if it’s flexible): You don’t have to get up at 7 a.m., but try not to go to sleep until 2 p.m. Maintaining a more or less regular sleep schedule will help you avoid jet lag upon your return. Get moving: You don’t have to go to the gym every day. A walk, a bike ride, some stretching, or a bit of dancing with your friends. Physical exercise releases endorphins and helps reduce stress. Connect with nature: Go for a walk in a park, hike in the mountains, or relax on the beach. Contact with nature has a very positive effect on your mental well-being. 3. Plan your return without stress. Preparation is key to avoiding last-minute stress. Do a quick review: A week or two before you return, take a look at your notes from the previous semester. Not to study, but to refresh your memory. Review the subjects, the main topics… just so they don’t seem completely new. Organize your materials: Check if you’re missing any books, if you need to buy new notebooks, or if your laptop needs a tune-up. Having everything ready will save you a lot of worry. Set realistic goals: Don’t aim to study 8 hours a day from day one. Start with small goals and gradually increase the intensity. In short, your vacation is for recharging your batteries, not for shutting down your brain. Enjoy yourself, relax, and do things that make you happy, but do so mindfully. When you return to classes, you’ll find your brain is ready to face any challenge. #universityholidays #backtoroutine #productivity #studyandrest #universitylife
